I am giving it 4 stars because it is exactly what it said it was in the description and pictures. And although I purchased it for treating scarring, I hadn't done enough research to find that this size is not meant to help with that.I'm all for at home treatments, but I do think it is necessary to do a lot of research before trying something at home especially when estheticians have to get a state license (except in Connecticut....).With that being said I have a few qualms:-Rolling needles over your face causes tearing so its actually better to use needles micro needle pens (but I learned this after my purchase).-Cleaning is a nightmare and makes me pretty nervous to continue using it. When you're puncturing your face with needles you need to make sure that it is insanely clean, but I just don't think that people can do that at home with just soap and water or even alcohol.-Drying it after cleaning is a nightmare as well. I am a little paranoid about germs and when you are letting it dry you don't want to roll it on just any fabric or material because it will have lint all over it. You also don't want to let it sit in its case before you spray it with rubbing alcohol (water can contain and gather bacteria that you don't want to force into your skin). Even when I set it on a sanitized surface to dry, I forget about it and don't come back to it for a few days usually and by that time I fear dust or other air borne particles have landed on it.... I might just be a crazy germaphobe, but I don't want something that is supposed to make my skin better giving me acne or infections.-Last but not least, I didn't really notice much of a difference in my skin. Granted, I am only 23 and realize my skin shouldn't need much treatment at this point, but I have my fair share of wrinkles, scarring and dry skin that I wanted to deep treat with topical treatments that were said to work better and deeper with this kind of product. My moisturizer didn't absorb any quicker, and I didn't notice my dry areas getting any better after biweekly use. This is a .25 mm dermaroller that does exactly what it's supposed to do. It has a great case that I love to store it in and it has a perfect well for the main wheel that makes sanitizing it perfect. I put a little rubbing alcohol in the well, dip the roller in it, and it is sanitized.I love that the handle has a little thumb guard on it to make it easier for you to move it in deliberate straight lines. It forces your hand to stay still, which is a feature I have not seen in many other rollers. As for whether or not dermarollers work, I can say after being skeptical they DO in fact make a difference. Even with the tiny .25 I can see a huge difference in the size of my pores, this needle size is supposed to just be for product absorption but I can see a difference.I use this roller three times a week, and I follow it up with my retinol serum (safe for use with the .25 mm needle) and a sheet mask at night before bed. When I first started using this I would only use it once a week, and then built myself up. My advice it to go slow and be patient. Be cautious about what you are using after a rolling session and plan for what you are going to use.Overall YES I recommend this product, and I might get the .50 needle of the this one day, but so far I am getting good results with the .25.I have been using this one time per week for 3 weeks now. I do 6-8 swipes in upward direction on each piece of skin on my face and a little bit on my neck. Then do the same in sideways direction. Always applying slight pressure. When I am done my face is a bit red and feels a little bruised. I then have been applying Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Skin by Cosmedica Skincare on one side of my face and Cetaphil Rich Hydrating Night Cream with Hyaluronic Acid,on the other. I'm 61 years old and have a lot of sun damage and some deep wrinkles but have olive skin so it maybe isn't as noticeable on me as others. I also was diagnosed with Rosacea years ago and redness flares up often so I'm extremely picky about what creams I put on my face. Love both of these. On the 3rd use of this roller it is now squeaking pretty bad so will look at maybe some kind of oil next time. I don't know if this microneedling thing will work but I met a women in her 70 who had been using it for a year and her skin looked "thicker" and stronger than most women her age and so worth a try. She was a salesperson so grain of salt.
